Poor repair process.

This product came with a defective water valve from the start. Even though I paid for a 5 year warranty, the dealer would not come out to fix it. I had to call whirlpool and get a different dealer repair. The new valve lasted about 2 days and the new valve started making the same noise sporadically. They came back and the repairman of course did not hear it since it was not acting up at the moment. So he left without making the repair. It still does it. It is not normal.

Not enough ice

We have had this refrigerator let than a month. We like the layout of both compartments. First disappointment is the volume of ice it holds, maybe 3 large mugs. It will not keep up with our family of 3. Second, when the ice is harvested it sounds like a gun shot from the kitchen and when the ice tray fills it sounds like a garbage disposal running or a lawn mower started in the garage. The ice maker is a major problem with this unit. Third, the other issue we have that it does not keep temperature at suggest setting (freezer "0", frige compartment at 38 degrees). We are told it is with in Whirlpool's range (4 or 5 degrees of suggested range) to me it should reach and maintain "suggested" temps.

Not as much interior space than our old fridge.

Compared to our previous Maytag refrigerator, this one is sufficient. However, there are two issues that we have noticed. The first issue is the loud noise it makes when the water fills the ice maker. I never notice this noise in our old fridge. The second issue is the loss of space in the shelving. I have adjusted the shelves to get the most area of space for taller items and am just disappointed that I have lost space for varying heights of containers like I had in the previous fridge. Other than these issues the fridge is doing the job. I will have to manage big family gatherings with coolers as the refrigerator space is limited. I wish I had compared the surface space before buying.

Cools and freezes just fine. But after flushing the system three times and waiting five weeks, the water dispenser drips. A LOT. About two ounces after each and every glass of water. Repair person stopped by and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He'll have to order a mess of parts and replace EVERYTHING. Also, the water and ice dispenser paddles are really hard to press.

We had to replace our 24-yea- old Kitchenaid. Regretfully, we found that all the newer models are not of the same quality. However, Whirlpool has the best reputation for quality so ended up buying one. Had better lighting than most others, plus we wanted adjustable shelves. Attractive and works great. Drawers slide smoothly. However, when it drops the ice into the storage container, it is noisy. The water dispenser is more touchy than our old one, have to have the glass just right. When the ice comes out, you better be ready because it drops a lot at once. We had a side-by-side before and replaced it with the French Door model. Although nice, still prefer the side-by-side. Things we did not think about when looking for a new one, do the doors open enough to get the bins out for cleaning and removing the ice tray? Did not think about the fact you have to open both doors to use the deli drawer and open the left storage bin which lets more cold air out. However, all in all, we are happy with it. The main thing is it keeps the items uniformly cold, and there does not seem to be any sections in the refrig where it keeps the items so cold they ice up.

We're on our 3rd refrigerator. The first one failed completely the day it was installed. The second one arrived weeks later with damage to the right hand door. The third one came nearly a month later. It seems to be holding up, but seems very noisey for this price range. Water filling the ice tray, ice dropping and different pumps are quote noticable.

Another disappointing new fridge 😞

We regret purchasing this refrigerator. We have only had it 1 month, but it has never worked correctly. It barely makes ice (1 cube at a time) and the water dispenser barely works. I knew when we bought this we would be disappointed. All I hear is horror stories of crappy new refrigerators. Apparently they are all warranted. I am definitely NOT surprised. Our old fridges ice maker worked just fine so it's not a question of water pressure. I would not recommend buying this. Not happy!

We bought this refrigerator almost a month ago when the compressor on our Kenmore Elite died. This Whirlpool model was very similar to that so we ordered it. Unfortunately, the ice maker quit working for a few days and we couldn™€™t get access to the ice maker. Then it just started working again. We had someone come out to show us how to get access, but is so hard to pull out that we can™€™t do it. Also, the ice maker is loud and takes up a lot of room inside the fridge. I miss the Kenmore Elite!

This Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased to replace our LG. We didn't want to get another LG, because ours only lasted 12 years. However, upon reading the Whirlpool literature and reviews, we found out that theirs are only rated for 12 years, as well. That is disappointing, to say the least. The Whirlpool refrigerator seems to be made cheaper, with more plastic than our LG had. It also has less space due to the large ice compartment. I don't know if I would purchase this refrigerator again.

The through the door water and ice were a must for us, as our previous refrigerator had this, it also was a Whirlpool and it worked flawlessly for 20 years and still runs great. Bad - high temperatures

We bought the refrigerator a month ago and it runs 10 degrees hotter than the temperature is set at, both freezer and refrigerator. The appliance repair service they scheduled did not have the expertise to fix the problem and no one contacted us to tell us (no show on scheduled date). Had to call Whirlpool again to start the process over to find a repair service. We were told that it could take up to another 8 business days to find a qualified service repair company (no guaranty) and then schedule the repair date.

My first french door fridge in my 65 years of marriage but I always buy Whirlpool. Overall quality and design seems terrific BUT why a company as big and prestigious as Whirlpool can't provide a more quiet pump for the ice machine water is beyond understanding. Do they not listen during design, It is REALLY loud and very disturbing. Really enjoy the capacity of the ice machine but do not enjoy the crazy noise.

A good average fridge

We have had this fridge for 3 months now. I feel like it is an average fridge. I like how the are drawers in the door feel well built and I'm not afraid of the items coming out or the drawers breaking. Several things I don't like are how loud the ice maker is when filling water and dumping the ice, the veggies drawers are small and have a bar that goes across the top that makes the area smaller and less space for veggies because they can get caught on it, the ice maker is enormous and takes up 1/3 of the fridge space which has been annoying. The fridge is fine, it seems to function fine, it is easy to clean. It is just not my ideal fridge.

In less than one week of having this fridge, we are unable to remove ice cube container. I believe it is a design problem since the floor model at Home Depot had the same problem.

The replacement fridge has had 0 issues. And I'm very happy with it. Plenty of room and has an ice maker that keeps up with everyone using it.
